This month, Apple is expected to hold an event to unveil new MacBook Pro models, a redesigned Mac mini, and third-generation AirPods. While the exact date of Apple’s rumored October event has yet to be confirmed, the timing has begun to narrow, giving us a hint as to when the event might happen.

On Tuesday, September 14, Apple held an event where it unveiled the iPhone 13 lineup, the Apple Watch Series 7, the sixth-generation iPad mini, and the ninth-generation iPad. Apple held three events in the fall of last year, one each in September, October, and November. The first three Macs with the M1 chip were unveiled at the company’s first-ever November event.

According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple will hold two events this fall, the second of which will focus on the Mac. Apple has held an event in October in seven of the last ten years, so an October event in 2021 would be in line with previous years:

  • Tuesday, October 4 2011
  • Tuesday, October 23 2012
  • Tuesday, October 22, 2013
  • Thursday, October 16, 2014
  • Thursday, October 27, 2016
  • Tuesday, October 30, 2018
  • Tuesday, October 13, 2020

Apple’s events are usually held on Tuesdays, with media invitations sent out a week in advance. The timing of the company’s annual Back to School promotion had initially led to speculation that the event would take place on Tuesday, October 12, but with no invites yet sent out, that possibility has now been ruled out. This means that for an event this month, there are only two viable options:

  • Tuesday, October 5
  • Tuesday, October 12
  • Tuesday, October 19
  • Tuesday, October 26

We could see invitations being sent out on Tuesday, October 12 or Tuesday, October 19 for an event on October 19 or October 26. Google, on the other hand, has announced that its next Pixel event will take place on October 19, and while Apple could choose to compete with Google’s event, Apple tends to prefer dates near the end of the month anyway, so October 26 is probably the more likely date at this point. Of course, November is still a possibility, but based on past events, it appears that Apple will release its final products in 2021 in late October.

We will update this article as soon as we know more about when Apple’s October event is set to take place.
