Kate Mulgrew (Star Trek: Prodigy, Orange Is the New Black) has secured a recurring role in Showtime’s The Man Who Fell to Earth, opposite Chiwetel Ejiofor and Naomie Harris.
The Man Who Fell to Earth will follow a new alien character (Ejiofor) who arrives on Earth at a turning point in human evolution and must confront his own past to choose our destiny, based on the Walter Tevis novel and the 1976 film starring David Bowie.
Mulgrew will play Drew Finch, a CIA spy who stands at the very top of the agency’s perilous slopes and is a secret collector, according to Deadline. Finch has to fight to keep her own past hidden while playing for the largest stakes of her life, while being emotionally fearless and a master of spotting and exploiting the weak link.
Mulgrew is best known for her role as Galina “Red” Reznikov on Orange Is the New Black. She is also known as Captain Kathryn Janeway from Star Trek: Voyager. Mulgrew will soon be transported back into the Star Trek franchise for Star Trek: Prodigy, a new animated series.
Mulgrew is a huge addition to Showtime’s The Man Who Fell to Earth, which also stars Chiwetel Ejiofor and Neil Patrick Harris. As the stars continue to align, this is something to keep an eye on.
