The new Edge Browser feature has been added to Xbox by Microsoft. The Chromium version of the Edge browser can now be used on Xbox models after a six-month trial period. Today, the Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S consoles will get the new browser.

Through the new Edge browser, Xbox users will be able to use Discord and play Google Stadia games. On a PC or a Macbook, the Microsoft Edge browser looks the same. Vertical tabs and Collections, which are available on the PC version of the browser, are also available. Your browser history, the features you customize, and so on are all matched here, just like they are on the mobile and PC versions of the browser.

Xbox Edge Browser’s Features

The Xbox Edge Browser works with both a mouse and a keyboard. As a result, you can use Office programs like Excel and Word on your Xbox. Google Stadia games can also be played in your browser. Although there is no Discord app for Xbox yet, Discord can now be used on Xbox via the browser. You can join chat channels and participate in voice calls using Discord’s browser version.

The fact that the new version of the Edge browser is now available on Xbox is a huge step forward for Xbox users. Because Steam PC games, for example, will now be playable on the console. In fact, Xbox will be able to play other web-based games. All browser-based applications will be accessible as a result. In addition to all of these features, the Xbox browser allows users to share content with other devices on which they are logged in. In other words, the user will be able to send a tab from the console to his PC or laptop’s Edge browser.

For now, the only shortcoming of the browser seems to be the absence of extensions. This seems to be the only difference with the PC version.
