When the news of Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania, a modern remake of the first three games, broke in June, it delighted fans of the series’ heyday. Not only is Sega paying homage to the most popular Super Monkey Ball games, but the company has also announced guest characters such as Sonic, Tails, Kazuma Kiryu from Yakuza, and Beat from Jet Set Radio. Sega announced during today’s Gamescom Opening Night Live stream that another beloved Sega character will be added to the mix as post-launch DLC.

Morgana, Persona 5’s cat-like Phantom Thief, is the latest character to be confirmed for the remake collection. AiAi, MeeMee, GonGon, Baby, Doctor, and YanYan are among the playable characters, as are the six core members of the monkey gang – AiAi, MeeMee, GonGon, Baby, Doctor, and YanYan. Morgana, who will be available as paid post-launch DLC, can be played in all of the game’s main modes, but instead of bananas, he collects treasure chests. Morgana will cost $4.99 when he becomes available as DLC on November 2, less than a month after the game’s release.

This is far from the first time the Persona 5 cast has appeared in other games. While Joker’s appearance as a playable fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is undoubtedly the most high-profile cameo, the Phantom Thieves or elements of their attire have appeared in games such as Sonic Forces, Catherine: Full Body, Puzzle & Dragons, Phantasy Star Online 2, and more.

A second trailer, which debuted during Gamescom Opening Night Live, shows all 12 Party Games coming to Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania in action. Personally, I’m very excited to relive my Monkey Target glory days.

On October 5, Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania will be released for the PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. The Xbox version uses Smart Delivery, which ensures that you get the correct version for your console at no extra charge, while PS4 owners can upgrade to the PS5 version for free. The console version is $39.99, while the PC version is $29.99 and can be purchased through Steam. If you prefer, you can purchase the Digital Deluxe version for $49.99.

Morgana will cost $4.99 when he launches on November 2.
