The Simpsons, Loki, Disney+, Marvel

Now that The Simpsons are living under the same roof that includes Star Wars and the Marvel Cinematic Universe, America’s favourite family are free to (officially) crossover with all the studios various brands. Disney announced the second of a series of Simpsons shorts for Disney+ today: The Good, The Bart, and The Loki.

The Marvel-themed Simpsons short will find Loki banished from Asgard once again and forced to face his toughest opponents yet: the Simpsons and Springfield’s mightiest heroes. The God of Mischief will team up with Bart Simpson in the ultimate crossover event paying tribute to the Marvel Cinematic Universe of Super Heroes and Villains. Not only that, but Tom Hiddleston returns to lend his voice to the animated version of Loki. The Good, The Bart, and The Loki will debut on Disney+ on July 7th, and you can check out the poster below.

The Good, The Bad, and The Loki follows in the footsteps of Maggie Simpson in: The Force Awakens from Its Nap, a Star Wars-themed short which was released earlier this year.

As for Loki, the fourth episode of the six-episode series debuted on Disney+ today, but as I haven’t had time to watch it just yet, I can’t dive into its mysteries and revelations. However, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has previously teased that the series will have an enormous impact on the MCU. The Marvel honcho told Empire that Loki is “tremendously important” and “perhaps will have more impact on the MCU than any of the shows thus far. What everybody thought about WandaVision, and was sort of true, and The Falcon and the Winter Solider, which was sort of true, is even more true for Loki.
