Marvel is focusing on episodic content for Disney+ after the huge success of shows like WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Loki. Armor Wars, starring Don Cheadle, will have Yassir Lester as its head writer, according to the studio. Marvel is keeping plot details for the series under wraps for the time being. However, it has been confirmed that Cheadle will return to the show as James Rhodes. It’s also been said that some of Tony Stark’s most dangerous technology ends up in the wrong hands in the show.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige will produce the series, and the search for a director is currently underway.
Lester and Cheadle, it turns out, are already acquainted with one another. On Cheadle’s Showtime series Black Monday, Lester is a lead writer. Lester’s pitch for Armor Wars, according to Marvel lore, piqued the interest of Marvel executives as well as Cheadle himself.
Marvel has a number of projects planned for Disney+, including upcoming Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, and Secret Wars presentations. Each series will introduce new and powerful characters to the MCU, including Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop, Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan, Oscar Isaac’s Marc Spector, and many more! Some Marvel fans believe the superhero studio is steadily building toward the formation of the Young Avengers, a group of young heroes who fight evil in the MCU together.
