Tomorrow, the sixth and final episode of Loki will premiere, presumably answering all of the key concerns that have been raised as Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) try to identify the true mastermind behind the Time Variance Authority. You can expect easter eggs and references, as with most Marvel Cinematic Universe efforts, but it will be difficult to beat the number of goodies found in the previous episode, which was positively jam-packed.
The brief apparition of Throg, the frog variation of Thor, who was seen locked in a jar, desperately trying to reach Mjolnir, was one of my favorite easter eggs in the last episode of Loki. The tribute to Throg was charming enough on its own, but Loki director Kate Herron added another level to the easter egg when she told For All Nerds that the character was voiced by none other than Chris Hemsworth.
We recorded Chris Hemsworth for that, by the way. His voice going ‘Ahhh!’ That’s a whole new recording. Not recycled. He recorded that.
It’s fantastic. I can only hope this isn’t Throg’s final appearance. In Taika Waititi’s THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER, Chris Hemsworth will reprise his role as the human version of Thor, alongside Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, Chris Pratt as Peter Quill, Jamie Alexander as Lady Sif, Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher, Taika Waititi as Korg, and Russell Crowe as Zeus. Thor: The Dark World will be released in theatres on May 6, 2022. The final episode of Loki will premiere on Disney+ tomorrow, and a second season is rumored to be in the works, though nothing has been confirmed.
