Director Dan Allen’s creature feature It Came from Below will be released digitally on September 7th by Uncork’d Entertainment. Uncork’d also sent out a trailer for the film, which can be seen in the embed above, as well as the artwork featured below, along with the release date announcement.
It Came from Below has the following synopsis:
Miles Below The Earth. It Was Awakened. Jessie and her friends go deep underground to find out what happened to her father who claimed a monster lurks in the caves and has killed his friends. Wanting to uncover the truth, they will soon be hunted by a deadly creature from another world.
Allen crafted the story with producer Scott Jeffrey, then wrote the screenplay with Sam Ashurst (A Little More Flesh). The film stars Tom Taplin (Jurassic Island), Jake Watkins (Don’t Speak), Georgie Banks (Hatched), and genre regular Megan Purvis, whose previous credits include The Young Cannibals, Medusa, Bats: The Awakening, The Mutation, Hatched, Rise of the Mummy, and Cannibal Troll.
Scott Jeffrey, who has nearly 80 producing credits in the last five years, produced several of the films mentioned above.
Allen, who has a number of short films under his belt, is making his second feature film. Unhinged, a remake of a lesser-known “video nasty” slasher from 1982, was his feature directorial debut in 2017.
The trailer doesn’t give you much information, but It Came from Below appears to have the potential to be a fun little monster movie. I like the creature’s gooey, gross design, which looks much better in the trailer than in the artwork.
Check out the trailer and see if It Came from Below looks like a movie you’d want to watch next month.
