Meet the Madrigals — the magical, chaotic family at the center of Disney’s newest movie.
Encanto is a Colombian film set in a magical house in the mountains that follows the Madrigal family, a large, messy family that is just like any other except that each member is blessed with a magical gift when they reach adulthood. Almost everyone in the family, to be precise. Unlike her mother, who can heal through food, and her super-strong sister, Mirabel (Stephanie Beatriz) has never received a gift. But when the magic that has surrounded their family for three generations is threatened, it’s up to Mirabel to save it.
Encanto also stars Mar Cecilia Botero as the family matriarch, John Leguizamo as the mysterious Uncle Bruno, and Angie Cepeda as Mirabel’s mother, in addition to Beatriz. Zootopia’s Byron Howard and Jared Bush direct, with Charise Castro Smith co-directing and Lin-Manuel Miranda’s music.
Encanto hits theaters on Nov. 24.
