A new teaser and poster for Disney and Pixar’s upcoming all-new original feature film Turning Red have been released. Mei Lee, a 13-year-old who “poofs” into a gigantic red panda when she gets too enthusiastic, stars in this amusing coming-of-age narrative from Bao filmmaker Domee Shi (which is practically ALWAYS). The teaser shows Mei going through an awkward transition at school, despite the fact that the poster shows her in her nerve-wracking red panda form. Mei flees to a cluster of surrounding roofs since she has nowhere else to go. A little property damage will soon be the least of her worries.

Sandra Oh (Killing Eve, The Chair) plays Mei Lee’s caring, if not slightly overbearing mother, Ming, who is never far from her daughter—an unhappy reality for the teenager—in Turning Red.

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh Many of us may probably relate to being embarrassed by our parents when we were young. During adolescence, things are already difficult. When you throw in a nosy parent, it’s no surprise Mei morphs into a gigantic red panda. I sincerely hope that she and her mother may find common ground before the film’s events conclude; otherwise, Mei’s adolescent years would be… wait for it… pandemonium!

Disney and Pixar’s Turning Red releases March 11, 2022.
