Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl hasn’t even been released yet, and there’s already Super Smash Bros-level excitement for new characters joining the roster. Both of these characters were revealed today at Gamescom 2021’s Future Games Show. April O’Neil, the well-known reporter from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise, was already in the spotlight at Gamescom earlier this week when it was revealed that she would be a playable character in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge. CatDog, on the other hand, is prepared to attack with the duality of cats and dogs, combined in some bizarre amalgamation. What are their options? What kind of game do they play? Trailers for both characters can be found here.
These two characters join a growing list of Nickelodeon characters who are brimming with nostalgia. The Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl features characters from a variety of Nickelodeon shows, including Spongebob Squarepants, Danny Phantom, Rugrats, and Invader Zim (which character do you think is the best? Gir’s favourite character…) Hey Arnold!, The Wild Thornberries, and more. Of course, the character roster is accompanied by 20 themed locations from the franchises, such as Spongebob’s Jellyfish Fields. Expect frequent speculation and elaborate fake leaks about new additions to the game, as has been the case with Smash Bros. over the years.
Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl will be released this fall for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Switch, and PC, and will channel a lot of Super Smash Bros. energy. So, you can basically bop with these brawlers on anything. Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl supports up to four players locally and online.
