Metroid Dread is coming soon, with a release date set for October, and to commemorate the occasion, Nintendo has released a brand new trailer for you to enjoy. The latest trailer delves a little deeper into the various enemies that Samus Aran will face, including those who plan to emerge from the shadows of the planet ZDR to wreak havoc.
The latest trailer, which can be seen below, shows off more of Samus’ moves while taking down both old and new enemies, as well as her “ability amnesia.” Samus has been defeated by “a mysterious opponent,” according to Nintendo’s recollection, and as a result, she has lost all of her abilities that we’ve come to know over the years. Fortunately, she escaped death, but Metroid Dread will investigate how this occurred and why she was left behind.
In the video above, the large figure she is fighting is a Chozo, a race known for its intelligence and technological advancement. With the goal of achieving galactic peace, the Chozo eventually splintered, scattering throughout the galaxy and becoming a rare species to encounter. While this culture is largely peaceful, it does have its own “Chozo warriors,” as evidenced by the moves seen above. It’s not a good idea to mess with them.
The latest video also goes over some of her new and returning abilities, such as Aeion’s Flash Shift, Pulse Radar, and more. Check them out to see how she turns the air around her into a battleground, relying on her skills and combat prowess to stay in the lead.
